What is HPTA?

Originally proposed by EDF Energy, the HPTA is a network of Colleges and Training Organisations offering cost effective and high quality education, skills training and enrichment solutions at Ofsted Outstanding / Good standards for the HPC Project and the region it affects.

It provides the project contractors and their supply chains with:

  • One point of contact for training provision
  • Collaborative solutions to meet training needs, be that for new entrants to the industry or upskilling of experienced workers
  • Assurance that training and skills programmes are delivered to high quality standards
  • Competitive pricing
  • Geographical delivery

It provides regional Training Organisations with:

  • A unique access to those involved in constructing HPC; main contractors and their supply chains
  • Ongoing visibility for their provision
  • Timely intelligence on project skills needs
  • Confidence of being placed fully at the heart of the project
  • Collaborative opportunities in developing skills solutions
  • One point of contact

“The Hinkley Point C Construction Project fully supports the development and operation of the Hinkley Point Training Agency(HPTA), a coalition which aims to galvanise external training provider and government support.  In doing so, the HPTA will provide an effective regional response to the opportunity presented by the development of Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station, whilst collecting intelligence to support government and industry skills policy at the National Level.”
